From interface design
to a live website.
These are three connected parts of the RKWS internship, rather than separate courses. The program combines 45 days of guided training with 15 days of project work, bringing design, development, content and deployment together.
UI/UX + Frontend Foundations
Understand how an interface is planned, then turn the design into a responsive website. This part of the internship connects design decisions with the HTML, CSS and JavaScript used to build the page.
Focus areas
- User journeys, page structure and wireframes
- Semantic HTML, accessible forms and navigation
- CSS layouts, spacing, typography and responsive breakpoints
- JavaScript and DOM interactions
- Testing interfaces on mobile and desktop
Putting it into practice
Build and refine a responsive interface, check its navigation and forms, and use review feedback to improve the implementation.
Backend + SQL + MongoDB
Follow what happens after a visitor submits a form or requests information. Learn how backend workflows validate requests, work with a database and return useful responses to the interface.
Focus areas
- Request and response workflows and API fundamentals
- Server-side validation and error handling
- SQL tables, relationships and queries
- MongoDB documents and data operations
- Connecting application features to stored data
Putting it into practice
Connect an interface to backend workflows and practise creating, reading, updating and deleting records, with validation and clear error responses.
WordPress + ACF + SEO + Server Management
Bring content management and deployment into the same workflow. Work through how a WordPress website is structured, how custom fields support its content, and what needs checking before a website goes live.
Focus areas
- WordPress pages, themes and content management
- Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and structured content
- Page titles, descriptions, headings and internal links
- Hosting, domain and DNS fundamentals
- Deployment checks, backups and basic maintenance
Putting it into practice
Prepare a content-managed website, review its on-page SEO and links, and work through the checks needed to publish and maintain it.
Bring the modules together.
The final project brings the training into one website, with implementation, review and deployment. See the full curriculum flow or contact the team about the current schedule and admission process.
